Stratego

Stratego is one of the most difficult games that can be played and requires a lot of (you guessed it) strategy! Each player is given 40 pieces. Hasbro Inc. Suing Online Scrabble Knock-Off

Hasbro Inc. - the American toy company - is suing the creators of Scrabulous. Scarbulous is a Scrabble game knock-off and according to Hasbro it has infringed on the rights that Scrabble holds. They filed a suit this week asking for assests of bankrupt Coleco. They also asked Facebook to block the game from their site.

Although Scrabulous has been around since 2006, Hasbro is apparently angry that, even after releasing an official Scrabble together with game maker Electronic Arts Inc., Facebook users still preferred the knock-off, even though both were free.

Deal Or No Deal Board Game

Deal or No Deal is purely a game of luck. All you have to do is pick a suitcase and hope that it has the number you want. You could end up leaving the show with $5 or even $500. Why someone would actually make this into a board game is beyond me because there is really nothing to it.

Backgammon

Backgammon is a classic game like chess or checkers – but surprisingly few people know how to play it. Each player has 15 pieces that have to be moved from the place that they start off all around the board to the home base and then off the board completely. Each round the player will throw the dice and will than determine which piece they will move. Players do have the ability to capture each other’s pieces –which will make those pieces start off from the beginning.

Axis & Allies

If you are a serious strategy game fanatic and have enjoyed playing Risk then have I got a game for you. You can play this game with only one other friend or get a group of you together that thrive on strategy games and delve into Axis and Allies.

Whether you are a computer gamer or enjoy board games, Axis and Allies is available online or in board game form. There are also specialty sister games, such as D-day, War At Sea and Guadalcanal Strategies.

Game Of Life: Twists And Turns

We all know the classic Game of Life and how we would spend hours finding a career we loved, getting married, buying out first car and house, and than retiring into a lap of luxury. Unlike Monopoly this game has stayed true to its original form for years. But now it is time to change things up and trust me you are going to love it.

Scene It?

Scene It? is a DVD board game that takes movie trivia to a whole new level. It is for 2 to 4 players ( though teams are much more fun with bigger groups). Movie trivia games have never benefited from players being able to actually see the subject of the questions, until now.

Cranium

Cranium is a party board game, invented by Whit Alexander and Richard Tait in 1998. It’s “The Game for Your Whole Brain.” Unlike many other party games, Cranium includes a wide variety of activities. Dave Edelstein of Foundation Design created the packaging and brand identity for the game, and Gary Baseman, creator of the animated series Teacher’s Pet, did the art.

Clue: A Game Of Mystery

Clue is a priceless game that every child, and even a few adults, love to play. It is a game of strategy, of wits, and of guessing who the killer really is. There are up to five players that you can choose to be. Miss Scarlett, Miss Peacock, Miss White, Prof. Plum, Col. Mustard, and Mr. Green. Your mission is to find who killed Mr. Body, what weapon was used, and what room he was murdered in.

The Classic Game Of Sorry

There are so many games that I used to play when I was a child that I rarely see anymore in this day and age. It seems that most children are playing video games and computer games instead of board games. Unfortunately it’s hard to have a fun filled family night with those games. So for those of you who want to bring the family together and play some good old fashioned board games then this is a great one to try. The game of Sorry is one that is not only fun, but one that children will remember and love and want to keep playing again and again.
